I am a sucker for vintage Hip Hop / Rap T-Shirts! A few weeks ago I came across this awesome Bell Biv Devoe "Shit is Mental" 1990 Tour t-shirt at a local thrift store.  Paper thin cotton blend with some crazy gradient graffiti style print on the front and back makes this gem extremely eye catching.  A must have for any Hip Hop fan!

The other day I stumbled across a T-Shirt that looked very familiar to me, although I couldn't quite put my finger on where I had seen it.  I ended up grabbing it and taking it home to do some research.  BINGO, Bay Area Legend Jason Kidd wore this exact same shirt during his High School Sports Illustrated photo shoot! A classic piece to add to my collection. *Photo Rights to Sports Illustrated*

A baseball-less October in San Francisco is something us Giants fans are not used to.  In order to get my playoff baseball fix, I have to travel across the Bay Bridge to Oakland where there is a pretty damn good team in green and gold!  Today I am featuring this Vintage Oakland Athletics Pinstripe Starter Jersey as seen in the early 1990's Kris Kross video "Warm It Up!"  Time to throw this gem on (backwards of course) and try to bring home another World Series trophy to the Bay Area!

There are a few pieces of vintage sportswear that are staples in the 1990's Hip Hop world;  a Los Angeles Raiders Pinstripe Starter Baseball Jersey is one of them!  I found this amazing jersey a few weeks ago and can't seem to let it go.  Worn by every 90's Gangster Rap artist on the West Coast, these pinstripe Starter jerseys recently made a comeback and I can definitely see why!  You can catch the same jersey on Chris Brown in the video "Holla at Me".  Just a reminder that 1990's Hip Hop/Rap will never go out of style!

Today I was lucky enough to dig up a Vintage Atlanta Hawks 1986 Sand Knit Shooting Shirt!  If you are a fan of 1980's NBA Basketball, this piece is a must have!  Before Nate Robinson took the Dunk Competition by storm, Spud Webb was the poster boy for high flying little guys.  Not many people can outshine "Nique" in a Dunk Competition, but in 1986, 5'7" Spud Webb definitely did!

The 1990's were an iconic time to grow up in.  Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G.; each one in a class of their own.  Last weekend I was fortunate enough to dig up some killer shades at a local Thrift Store that had me reminiscing back to when I used to let my tape rock till my tape popped.  These Vintage Gianni Versace MOD 424 Tortoise Sunglasses are out of this world.  Easily my best Vintage Frames find of recent memory.  I can't wait to rock these with my red and black lumberjack! RIP Biggie Smalls!

 



SHARK WEEK...IT'S COMING!!!

 

Today I saw my first commercial for Shark Week 2013 and instantly started thinking about a Blog post.  Perfect timing to showcase some Vintage Deadstock Reebok Golf Greg "The Shark" Norman gear.  I picked the shirt up last week and the hat a few weeks ago.  The shark tooth piping on the polo shirt collar is amazing and the wrap around Great White shark print really makes this an eye catching piece. There were very few fashion moguls in the golf world in the 1990's, this Aussie just happened to be one of them!
